Week 15--Hong Kong

This week Sister Hawes and I started the week by studying about miracles. In return we had SOO many, here are a few:

Tuesday: Sister Allen and I were on exchanges for the last half of the day, so I ended up going to dinner with her and their Baptism Date Connie! The day before this they had just found out that she failed her baptism interview so we had to talk to her more about the word of wisdom. We found out it was just a misunderstanding and she will be baptized this Sunday! On a side note, I was wearing this new white top.
Connie bought us curry and I ate it with chopsticks. It didn't end well for my shirt. Connie's friend was trying to show me there was stuff all over my shirt by motioning

to her own. It was hilarious because obviously I saw the bright orange stains all over me.

Wednesday: Exchanges! I was on exchanges with Sister O'Reilly who is one transfer ahead of me, so neither of us really know much Cantonese. One of the first things we did together was a lesson with her friends Grace. This was an interesting lesson. Let's just say she doesn't focus very well. We had this lesson on prophets and who they were and why they're so important, but I had a prompting we needed to read 2 Nephi 31. Long story short, Grace is being baptized on July 12th!!!
Afterwards we had 4 hours of finding. After 3 hours we had no success. On the last hour we were walking on the promenade during the sunset talking to everyone. We started talking to this lady about the Book of Mormon and she asked us to sit down and watch the sunset with her. She was so sweet and we ended up planning a time to joing again.
As we started to head back we talked to this guy from mainland China. He was telling us how he was just thinking about what a wonderful world it is, then we came up to him and talked. As I was baring my testimony he interrupted me and said "wow you have such a light in your eyes" and I described to him how that is the Holy ghost and through Christ we are able to feel and have that. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he wants to learn more!!

Thursday: As we were about to exchange I got a call from Sister Hawes. She said we needed to head back immediately and exchange with Sister Allen to go teach this member referral. We got to her house and found out that her son pasted away a month ago. We started teaching her about the Plan of Salvation and she said
"All of my sadness is gone, I feel so much peace."
Sister Allen and I felt prompted to invite her to be baptized. 鐘小姐 is being baptized on July 12th!!
Later that day we had a lesson with our friend Indi. We taught her about the gift of the holy ghost and the spirit was so strong. It was such a good lesson.
Afterwards she told me that my language has improved so much which made me feel so good!

Friday: Today we had service at Food Angel for 3 hours! Food Angel is a donation company where we made and prepare food for the elderly. We get to do this once a transfer. A few of us got selected to cut onions for 3 hours. Everyone around me started crying and it was hilarious.  For some reason im immune to the onions.
After Food Angel we went to 防家庭 home. They live in the nicest area in the nicest apartment building and a pent house at the very top with a pool and everything. It was amazing. We had dinner there and I had the MOST amazing lasagna. It was really sweet because the mom of that family isn't a member and used to hate missionaries, but now she comes to church every week!

Saturday: The first person we talked to she was so interested and we started teaching her!
For lunch we had another member meal for Elder Chan's birthday. These members are so sweet and bought us all food at this restaurant and cake.
Then tonight as we did SIM calling, the first person picked up and wanted to have more lessons. Miracles.

Sunday: Our friend Indi came to church ON TIME today! We also had a past baptism date come to church and say she wants to start meeting with missionaries again! Then 來姊妹's granddaughter came to church and we were able to teach her after church! She is 17 and also wants to learn more! Then in the evening we had a member meal with the miow 家庭. Before we left miow 姊妹 gave us this booklet for of photos, a scarf, and homemade bows. It was the sweetest thing ever. Also fun fact, her son is afraid of fruit and cries whenever he sees it.

...and sooo many more!
This week every single day was filled with miracles, both small and big.
Heavenly Father is the same today, tomorrow, and forever, so why would He cease miracles?
HE HASN'T!
Miracles are all around us. And God is just waiting to bless you with them! Pray, ask for miracles. I promise you will receive them.

I love you all!
